How to accelerate the process of transfering domain from NameSilo

You may not hear about the name of Namesilo. In fact, I just found this domain registrar recently. And the price of Namesilo is affordable which makes me transfer a domain just as a test. Until these days, I notice that I can transfering out now (usually 60 days is need to waited after you register or transfer in a domain ) . So I decided to record the whole transfering process as another test:)[ad#PostRight]

As we all know, to transfer a domain out,  you may first get the EPP ( the same as “Authorization Code”). In fact, you can make it quite easily (You will receive an Email which contains the Authorization Code inside)!

Then, you may receive another E-mail as follows,

DOMAIN NAME TRANSFER

Re: Transfer of YourDomain.com

NameSilo received notification on 2011-03-31 that you have requested a transfer to another domain name registrar. If you want to proceed with this transfer, you do not need to respond to this message.

If you wish to cancel the transfer, please follow the URL below by 2011-04-05:

*********An URL Here*******

If we do not hear from you by 2011-04-05, the transfer will proceed.

OK, as you can see, you will need to waiting for 5 days so that the process starts…

I decided to ask if I can accelerate the process such as click some “I accept” Button~

Unfortunately, the answer is NO:

Unfortunately, our system does not support accelerating outgoing domain transfers. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Although the answer seems disappointed, but the reply is really made fast ( just a few seconds?), which impress me a lot.

Is that a suck result? No, in fact, I think it a safer way to protect your domain. And thanks to Eric from NameSilo, who provides more details on Transfer in and out in NameSilo:

One of the things that we think makes our transfer process among the best is in the ability to configure incoming transfers before the domain even arrives to our system. As you may have noticed, people have the ability to choose from the following options while their transfer is still pending. These choices allow people to ensure that their domain is handled how they would like as soon as the transfer completes without needing to worry about logging in to our system and making the changes after the transfer has already happened:

  • Make no changes
    • Selecting this option will result in the current name servers associated with your domain remaining in place, and no changes to your domain being made upon transfer completion. This is the default option for all domain transfers, and should be used for domains that do not use their current registrar’s name servers, DNS settings, or programs such as parking and forwarding.
  • Setup Custom DNS Records
    • If this domain uses your current registrar’s DNS system for maintaining resource records, this option will allow you to create those same records using our free DNS system to avoid any down time following the transfer completion. We have done our best to pull over your existing DNS records in case you select this option, but we STRONGLY recommend viewing and modifying the DNS records we have in place for you should you choose this option. You can create/modify/delete DNS records at this time.
  • Setup Domain Forwarding
    • Select this option if you would like to utilize our free web site forwarding for this domain.
  • Domain Parking
    • Select this option if you would like this domain to utilize our free parking program.

Our transfer process also is very proactive when it comes to keeping people informed as to the status and any action required on their part for the process to continue and complete.

So I think, although NameSilo is not a large domain registrar as Godaddy,  the reasonable price of domains , the in-seconds reply and the ways to protect your domains(have I mentioned about the free WHOIS pravicy protection?) make it a quite worthy to recommend!

As you can learn, the transfering process is still on and for further info about transfering, I will added them in this post as well!
