UMPlayer – open source powerful media player
I am now working under cross-platform, i.e. Windows 7 and OpenSUSE, a Linux distributtion. I can say nothing but love to Linux especially when I coding on it. However, I have to admit that entertainment is really not that good in Linux, no matter in OpenSUSE or Ubuntu. Kaffiene is my default media player in OpenSUSE 12.1 (KDE), and owing to many potent reason, most of media player can not contain commercial media encodes. And even you are familiar with Linux, you have to spent a lot of time to make it work proper. Today, I will introduce a new cross platform Media player – UMPlayer
UMPlayer is short for Universal Media Player, which can support more than 270 media formats according to official introduction. The reason why we call it cross platform is because UMPlayer can be run in Windows, MacOS and Linux!
So if you are familiar with Mplayer, I don’t think you will encounter any trouble when using UMPlayer. Just have a check on http://www.umplayer.com/
UMPlayer is the media player that fills all your needs. With dozens of advanced features and built-in codecs it can handle any media format, and can play Audio CDs, DVDs, (S)VCDs, TV / Radio cards, YouTube™ and SHOUTcast™ streams and even incomplete or damaged media files.
